John just falls short of another North Island Champs title in Tauranga

Playing my first national event in 8 years I battled my way all the way through to the final of the 2022 North Island Championships, but lost at the final hurdle to a very motivated Alfred Delapena from Waitemata.

I was also coaching a number of players at the event so it was great for them to see how an experienced player approaches big matches such as Semis and Finals in a big national event like the North Island Champs.
